Consultation
If your child's pediatrician, daycare, or preschool has suggested a referral for further evaluation, or if you have concerns regarding your child's social, emotional, language, and/or cognitive development, Dr. Meyer is available for consultations to determine whether an evaluation is recommended, or whether the observed behaviors are in fact in keeping with typical development. As a mother herself, Dr. Meyer is sensitive to the anxieties that seemingly irregular behaviors in your child can evoke in a parent.

Evaluation
In the event that a comprehensive assessment is recommended and you elect to continue, Dr. Meyer will work with you to develop an individualized assessment protocol based on the types of behaviors that have been observed. Elements of a comprehensive protocol may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Caregiver interview
• Child interview
• Teacher/daycare provider phone interview
• Standardized child assessment tools (intelligence tests, language measures, neuropsychological tests, observational measures)
• Parent rating scales
• Teacher rating scales
• Preschool/daycare observation
